My Girlfriend is a Rabbit (MinKie)

Hi everyone…

Have you ever wished you could freeze your rabbit’s favorite pose forever? Yes you can! With the right photographer, you will be able to get a great portrait, and have fun too. I had a wonderful experienced. Photographing rabbits can be difficult, they like to run around, they don't follow directions, and they can easily become frightened if proper precautions are not taken.

In this lens I will share with you my photographing rabbits. While the focus of this lens will be on rabbits. Rabbits might not understand what you're trying to do at first. A normally outgoing rabbit can become quite shy around new things, such as a camera.

Her name is MinKie

Cute, cuddly and furry.... That’s a lop eared rabbit. They are the ones with the flippy floppy ears that you want to pick up and squeeze. Lop’s have a nice temperament, are easy to handle, and sturdy enough to withstand cuddles from excited children so they are a great choice for the family.

They are very kind loving animals, but raising them requires certain steps. In no time, you will love your new pet and your rabbit will love you too! They don’t require a huge amount of grooming, but just make sure you don’t over feed them as they are not naturally prone to activity.

There are several different types but they all originate from the original English Lop which happens to have the longest ears, but it quite large in size. The Dwarf Lop and the Mini Lop are the most popular types people have as pets and they come in a variety of colors. They are actually born with upright ears that gradually soften as they age!

When you are after lop ear rabbits, buy a baby. Animals of this breed are small and lovely creatures, they have a fine bone structure and don’t weigh much. Their shoulders are broad, the chest is deep and the legs are short. The maximum weight they reach is about 4 pounds and more.

Rabbits often have the most unique looking attributes. They have the best color of hair or fur. They've distinct textures that mask each inch of their bodies. Over all, they are totally diverse type of species which makes it fascinating to photograph them. Especially, if they are our pets and we are inclined to take to heart pet photography to preserve the memories we have with them.

I was gentle with her, and gave her time to get acquainted with her new surroundings. Then I began the photo shoot. Minkie wasn’t a very good model at first. She just curled up into a football position for about 15 minutes of our time. Fortunately I was very patient with her. I decided to try lowering the table.

Get in as many angles as possible that please your eyes. If you want to have your subject looking up, take the picture from above. If your subject is lying down and you want to be exactly on that level, lie down in front of them. Get creative! The photo is your own and you can add as much variety as you wish! This is a great bonding experience so have fun!

Photographing your pet can be a fun experience. Most of us have love pets that we love and want to be part of the family. By having pet portraits, we get to keep the image of the pets even after they are long gone.

She looks decent, and you can see her best attributes, but the shadows are ugly and she’s squinting! 

Finally, Minkie was starting to get comfortable. She began to look around and pose for the camera. I could tell she was enjoying this. She really liked being down off the table. This is where I got some of the best photos. She was so comfortable; it was hard to keep her in one spot. It just proves that if you’re patient, you can get great photos of a wiggly bunny!
